Please take the following tips into consideration and create/edit your meta tags. From within your web control panel you can hopefully find a place to edit your website's meta tags. If not, please ask support at your web host or store provider. These tags are responsible for telling search engines your store's title, description, and the key words by which you want your store found in search engines. Poor planning, or no meta tags entered at all, will result in low or no traffic to your new store or website! Key Words: Use around 5-15 keywords or, better yet, keyword phrases separated by a comma, that best describe what's on your web site. (Try to be specific by using some 5-15 word phrases rather than all single words; think of what a person would type in when searching for your site or the products found at your store). Example: Rather than "free, mortgage, calculator, etc..." where words are singled out and less effective, try "free mortgage calculator, etc..." where you combine the individual words free and mortgage and calculator to make one more specific search phrase. It is also very important to use key words that are actually words found on the main page of your website. Key words or phrases that are in your meta tags and are also found in the text of your main page will result in better listings on search engines. When listing your key words, try including some words that are found in your main page's text, link text, title, etc.. Web Site Description (25 words or less) Try to incorporate some of your key words and phrases you've chosen into your description. Don't just list the key words again as your description, but try to make a flowing sentence or two that include some key words. Web Site Title (64 characters or less) Try to incorporate some of your main key words and phrases into your title.
